Big Data Visualisation as co-PI Investigators: Leishi Zhang, Kai Xu Funding body: CGI Start Date: 2014 End Date: 2015 Interactive Feature Transformation, Multidimensional Data Visualisation The purpose of this research project is to investigate the effectiveness a new technique that integrates interactive feature space extension for multidimensional data visualisation. The project focuses on assessing the effectiveness of the combined visual representation and interaction techniques on human comprehension, and pattern recognition tasks such as the detection of clusters and outliers.

Intelligence Analysis, Visualisation
The PoL project was a collaboration between Mass Ltd. and Middlesex University. Patterns of Life analysis involves understanding patterns of movement in a group or population to support prediction. We interviewed a military intelligence analyst to establish requirements and developed a novel data visualisation for defence analysts performing Patterns of Life analysis.
